Age of Mythology maintains the same mechanics of the Age of Empires series and is similar in some respects so it could be considered as a spin-off. However, it has 3D graphics and does not focus on historical accuracy, but focuses on the mythology and legends of the Egyptians, Greeks, and Nordics. Age of Mythology The Titans Expansion is the continuation of the game Age of Mythology and adds 15 human units, 10 mythical units and 12 completely new divine powers, plus new buildings and technologies to the original game, most grouped into a completely different new civilization: The Atlanteans. This civilization dates back to an era of Ancient Greek Mythology where the universe – according to the Greeks – was ruled by twelve Titans, the ancestors of the Olympic gods. The gods only exercised dominion over the elements, while the titans were the elements. Undoubtedly the main feature of the game lies in the incorporation of the titans. While the term “titan” is attributed to each of the deities before the time of the Olympic gods, the game prefers to use the term titan god or titanic goddess to describe these deities. Titans, on the other hand, are somewhat different from a god, but no less destructive. When a civilization has reached the pinnacle of its development, it can invoke a last resort to give the final blow to its enemies.
